Seattle Grief Group
The Wild Edge of Sorrow:
A Journey Into Grief
Grief is meant to be witnessed and held in community. Navigate the timeless and boundless dimension of grief safely over the course of our 2-month group. We move at the pace of grief, allowing ourselves time to gently trust and deepen. Together we will explore the symbolic and expansive nature of grief, following The Wild Edge of Sorrow by Francis Weller as our guide.
Each session includes somatic practice, journaling, personal shares, ritual, and poetry. All types of grief are welcome - both personal and collective sorrow. Even parts of the self that have been hidden in shame or fragmented due to trauma carry a heavy burden of grief. Find belonging and connection as a member of our next "sudden village."
Each group includes:
-
27 curated journal prompts
-
9 guided somatic practices
-
8 micro-rituals (materials provided)
-
1 extended altar ritual
-
Professional container setting and facilitation by a licensed grief counselor and death doula.
Cohorts consist of five members to maintain intimacy and ensure each member has an opportunity to share every week. Members are encouraged to join for all nine weeks, although materials are shared virtually for any weeks that are missed.
